A programmer by training and a venture capitalist by profession, Mr Tan founded his first startup at the age of 13 and has already sold two companies before turning 21. He is currently the founder and CEO of Carro, a Singapore-based online car marketplace that has raised more than US$500 million, the company became a unicorn within five years of inception. Prior to Carro, Mr Tan spent five years with Singtel Innov8 Ventures, the venture fund of Temasek backed Singtel Group. Aaron also started Block 71 in Singapore and United States in 2011.

Mr Tan graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BSc from SMU’s School of Information Systems and MSc from Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science. Mr Tan was on a full scholarship from the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Singapore University of Social Sciences as well as the National Library Board.
