IIE Acceleration Grant provides start-ups with additional funding to support the growth of their start-up. Up to S$10,000 will be awarded to start-ups who display promise in terms of growth and development. Applicants must apply and be accepted into SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE)’s Business Innovations Generator (BIG) incubation programme to qualify for this grant.

IIE Acceleration Grant Eligibility:

1.  Eligible only for startups selected into BIG. Startups will be invited to apply during the commencement of each cohort.

2. One of the startup founders must be a current SMU student/faculty/staff or SMU alumni and hold one-third or more of the equity OR an equal stake vis-à-vis other founders e.g 5 founders of 20% each.

3. Startups who have received similar funding (e.g. Kickstart fund) support and any other government grant in the past 12 months are not eligible for application.

4. Startups who have received more than USD 1 million in external funding at the time of application are not eligible for the application. The award of the acceleration grant is based on SMU IIE’s discretion.

Startup SG Founder (SSGF) programme provides mentorship support and a startup capital grant to first-time entrepreneurs with innovative business concepts. It offers startups a capital grant ranging from $20,000 to $50,000, matching their fundraising efforts dollar-for-dollar, up to a maximum of $50,000.

The Startup SG Founder (SSGF) scheme is open to all SIngaporean Citizens (SC) / Permanent Residents (PR).
