These are the various awards and grants that students can tap into for GII. Please bear in mind that some are tied to specific destinations, and quantums are subject to change.

AmCham Global Innovation Immersion Award
Market: USA only
Eligibility: Only for eligible students undertaking a GII internship in United States of America
Quantum: 4000 SGD per award
About: Established in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham Singapore), the award is to nurture aspiring student entrepreneurs that are full-time SMU undergraduates of any nationality, by giving them the opportunity to be involved in a startup environment in the USA.

Andy Chua & Family China Innovation Immersion Award
Market: People’s Republic of China only
Eligibility: Only for eligible students undertaking a GII internship in the People’s Republic of China
Quantum: 1,500 SGD per award
About: Established by Mr Andy Chua and Family, this award supports SMU undergraduates participating in the GII programme in China. Mr Chua believes China is a global leader in innovation and that overseas experiences can be life-changing opportunities that broaden horizons, strengthen character, and inspire students to create, connect, and build businesses of their own.
Additional Information: Students who are bilingual in Chinese and English will be preferred. Students may be required to submit additional application for evaluation and further interviewed by the Donor and/or his representative

Eddie & Lindy Chang Overseas Study Mission Grants
Market: Any GII eligible destination
Eligibility: Gross monthly household per capita income not exceeding S$2,250 [Priority will be given to students with verified per capita income (PCI) and/or Gross Household Income (GHI)]
Quantum: 3000 SGD per award
About: Established in 2019, the Eddie & Lindy Chang Overseas Study Mission Grant is available to full-time undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. The objective is to provide assistance to financially needy undergraduates who wish to embark on entrepreneurship and related overseas study missions organized by the University.

Global Ready Talent Programme (GRTP)
Market: Southeast Asia, China and India.
Eligibility: Only Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents who are embarking on an internship in Southeast Asia, China and India are eligible for the grant.
Quantum: Dependant on length of internship
About: Grant administered by Enterprise Singapore which aims to build a pipeline of global-ready talent. Do note that any early termination of internship or reduction of original internship duration will result in rejection of GRTP application and subject to review and approval by ESG.

Jay and Marilyn Ng Global Innovation Immersion (GII) Award
Market: All GII territories
Eligibility: All SMU undergraduates who have demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset
Quantum: 3,000 SGD or 6,000 SGD per award, depending on a student’s internship destination.
About: The Jay and Marilyn Ng Global Innovation Immersion Award was established by Mr Ng Jen Wei (Jay) and Ms Tay Yue Koon (Marilyn) to support promising SMU students in gaining international innovation and entrepreneurship experience.

SICC International Exchange Scholarship
Market: ASEAN only
Eligibility: Participating in exchange at any one of the SMU partner universities from the ASEAN region. Singapore Citizens or Singaporean Permanent Residents
Quantum: 5000 SGD per award
About: Established in 2005, the Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students at the Singapore Management University participating in exchange at any one of the partner universities from the ASEAN region.

Teresita Sy-Coson Innovation Internship Grant
Market: The Philippines
Eligibility: All SMU undergraduates who have demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset
Quantum: 5000SGD
About: The Teresita Sy-Coson Innovation Internship Grant, established by Ms Teresita Sy-Coson, presents an invaluable opportunity for SMU students to deeply engage with the dynamic landscape of innovation in the Philippines.
