Charles is the Senior Director of the Singapore Fashion Council (SC). In his current role, he spearheads innovation and technology initiatives for the fashion and lifestyle industry, incubating startups and innovative companies in their business growth. He is active in the startup and innovation ecosystem, mentoring and supporting accelerator programmes, and is a member of the External Resource Panel of Singapore Management University (SMU), advising the university on the commercialization of new technology inventions.

Charles has a track record of leading startups and listed companies in the innovation, education, and technology spaces, holding leadership roles like Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief of Staff. He was a board member of various subsidiaries of Berjaya Corporation, led the Office of CIO in Singapore Exchange (SGX), and founded the Strategic Technology Management Institute (STMI) when he was a professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS). 

Charles has a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing, from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). His research interests were in the areas of Computer Aided Process Planning, 3D Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence.
