Innovation Funds is dedicated to help SMU community build prototypes of their innovation. These prototypes may be used to raise funds for innovative start-ups.
Startup SG Founder Grant
Startup SG Founder aims to provide mentorship support and startup capital grant to first-time entrepreneurs with innovative business concepts. The scheme provides up to $30,000 by matching $3 to every $1 raised by the entrepreneur.
IIE’s Acceleration Grant provide startups with additional funding to support the growth of their startup. Up to $10,000 will be awarded to startups who display promise in terms of growth and development.
Ideabox provides $1000/team in funding support to prototype and market-test venture ideas created in the School of Business’ Entrepreneurship Practicum (MGMT 327) and the School of Information Systems’ Upper Year Capstone Projects (IS480).
HSBC-SMU Sustainability & Innovation Grant
Open to SMU and non-SMU startups, the HSBC-SMU Sustainability & Innovation Grant aims to support sustainability-related startups in the MVP and growth stage. Selected startups will be awarded $30,000 each, equity-free, and be embraced in IIE’s 9 month incubation programme at SMU’s Business Innovations Generator (BIG)
Startup SG Entrepass
SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship has been appointed as an Startup SG EntrePass Partner. An international entrepreneur who is enrolled in SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship’s incubation/acceleration programme, or whose startup has received investment from SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, will be eligible for this privilege.
The SG:D Spark Programme is aimed at addressing the key challenges and supporting the growth of promising Singapore-based ICM startups through selected Government tools as well as creation of a vibrant, collaborative ecosystem and network.
