Karen NG
Chief of Staff, ENGIE South East Asia
Karen is the Chief of Staff at ENGIE South East Asia. Prior to this, she was the Head of Digital and led a team to providing end-to-end support on digital projects from digital solution proposal development to deployment of digital platforms as well as drive digital adoption to raise the digital awareness level of the entities in ENGIE APAC.
Before ENGIE, Karen was the head of Energy & Environment cluster in IPI, as part of the Singapore government’s effort to drive innovation in Singapore enterprises through innovation advisory. Her team supported companies in scouting for technology partners to accelerate their product development roadmap, organizing Open Innovation challenges and conducting technology landscape studies for a wide range of topics related to sustainability (e.g., hydrogen fuel cell, EV wireless charging, liquid cooling solutions for data centers etc.).
Before IPI, Karen worked in Siemens (Infrastructure & Cites) and other energy services companies where she performed energy audit and implemented energy management and optimisation system for commercial buildings, power plants and petrochemical plants. She also had an entrepreneurial stint with a Cleantech start-up where she led a project to design and construct a biodiesel micro-refinery deployed within urban cities.
Karen holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. She is also a certified energy manager and is training to be a certified competent facilitator. Outside of work, she is a mother of three beautiful girls, geek at heart and a master chef wannabe.
