Hui Ming heads the Digitalisation Strategy & Partnership Office (DSPO), a directorate within Government Technology Agency (GovTech), centrally positioned to orchestrate and enable sustainability, strategic workforce planning, functional domain digitalisation and execution across complex workstreams and organisational blind spots.
A self-confessed “techie”, Hui Ming started his career with DSTA, where he spent 12 years and his last posting in technology management with the Directorate of R&D. He then joined A*STAR, where he spent 8 years focussed on bringing “Mind to Market” in the translation of R&D Tech to commercialisation for industry. His last posting there was in Strategic Planning, Innovation, Network & Enterprise. He went on to play in the start-up tech space for 3 years, before joining ST Engineering (Infocomms) as Director (Technology & Product), where he was responsible for the management of the company’s R&D Tech portfolio, and instrumental in the building and productisation of the company’s AI/ML video analytics outfit.
Hui Ming graduated from Imperial College (London) in Information Systems Engineering, and has a Masters in Electrical & Communications Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS). He is a certified Scrum Master, as well as 5G Certified Associate (from Nokia Bell Labs). He previously co-editor of A*STAR’s Researcher’s Handbook “Innovations that Sell” to bring research from Mind to Market through the Technology Transfer Process.
