While many has taken the entrepreneur route early in their careers, Mr Lim Chuin Kiat has done quite the reverse. He went from an illustrious Corporate world to Entrepreneurship. He joined HP right after graduating from NTU and worked his way up from Engineer to Director of R&D where he grew HP's inkjet R&D in Singapore into one of the strongest and largest product development centers in Singapore.

He then continued his corporate role as GM for Dell's Global Printer business. After 22 years in MNCs, he decided he wanted to be involved in something more socially responsible. He and his partner subsequently founded Third Wave Power with the help of an incubator and NRF.

Within a year, they shipped the World's first portable Solar all-in-one device and secured 2 rounds of funding and are now working towards shipping even more exciting products in the months ahead. The corporate experience has been a tremendous help in the start up, although there are many things that the corporate world does not prepare one for in the entrepreneurship journey. Chuin Kiat will talk about his experiences and the role of innovation.
