Jamie Tan is the founder and CEO of Flying Cape Technologies Pte Ltd, a technology company with a focus on revolutionizing education and fostering community connections. Working with over 2,500 merchants, Flying Cape currently powers over 10 marketplaces that serve end users from over 39 countries and growing. Since setting up Flying Cape, Jamie has steered the company toward creating a global ecosystem that taps into technology and valuable data to connect global communities.. Headquartered in Singapore, Flying Cape currently has offices in China, Indonesia, India and Malaysia. 

Over the years, Jamie has gained recognition for her impactful work in the startup and education sectors. Her role in shaping the EdTech landscape in Singapore has garnered her numerous prestigious awards. Among these are the Women Entrepreneurship Awards 2018, finalist for the Promising Female Founder at the Technode Global Awards 2020, ORIGIN Innovation Award 2021 Movers and Shakers Startup Leader of the Year, HolonIQ’s EdTech Startup Women Leaders panel, ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) Award in 2022, Asia’s Woman Leader 2023 by CMO Asia, and  Entrepreneur 100 Award 2023 by the Association of Trade and Commerce.

Beyond work, Jamie is passionate about playing a part in building strong community education ecosystems and supporting budding entrepreneurs to chase their dreams of creating innovative solutions for the future.  In her personal capacity, Jamie actively mentors aspiring entrepreneurs, and dedicates her time to supporting initiatives aimed at women or young talents. To promote collaboration and innovation, she spearheaded the setup of  SGTech’s EdTech Committee and currently serves as an SGTech Councillor.

Prior to starting up, Jamie enjoyed a thriving corporate career with more than 15 years under her belt. She led as the Head of Regional IT (Asia Pacific) for an American MNC, orchestrating expansion through greenfield projects and strategic M&As worth over USD 425 million.

Jamie graduated with a Bachelor's Honours degree from NTU Computer Engineering and also has a Masters under the Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree EMBA programme.
