Ereen Toh
Venture Associate
Ereen draws on her experience as an entrepreneur, ecosystem builder and marketer in her work supporting startups. She spent nearly a decade as an entrepreneur, building and growing businesses in the creative and wedding industry. Her experience as a founder gave her firsthand insight into the realities of building a business, from developing products and acquiring customers to managing teams and navigating growth.
She subsequently spent six years as a radio producer with Kiss92FM, before moving into regional marketing leadership in the beauty industry. These experiences strengthened her expertise in brand building, communications, partnerships and audience engagement.
At SMU’s Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Ereen works closely with founders, investors, corporates and ecosystem partners through programmes including the Business Innovations Generator (BIG), Urban SustaInnovator (USI) and Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC).
Ereen holds a BSc (Hons) in Management from the University of Manchester and is a Venture Fellow with Insignia Ventures Academy. Still an entrepreneur at heart, she enjoys being close to the energy, challenges and possibilities of building something from the ground up.
Outside of work, Ereen is rarely without a milk tea in hand and enjoys travelling in search of new experiences, from chasing the Northern Lights to taking in scenic mountain views and going for walks in nature.
